Toyota Brand Is North American Launch Partner for Overwatch League

While you may not automatically think of our new Toyota cars when you think of online gaming, a new partnership between the Toyota brand and the Overwatch League proves that you should. In a recent press release, the Toyota brand announced that it is a North American launch partner for the inaugural season of the Overwatch League, which is a new esports league. This is the first time that the automaker we represent has entered into a partnership with an esports league of any sort.

As partners, the Toyota brand and the Overwatch League will develop a behind-the-scenes series entitled “Access Granted.” Throughout this series, viewers will get an exclusive look at the unique experiences of esport athletes.

The MLG division of Blizzard Entertainment will produce Access Granted. The series will highlight clips of live esports matches and will feature competitors driving Toyota cars to and from their matches. All of the Overwatch League’s regular season matches will take place at Blizzard Arena Los Angeles.

In addition to contributing to the creation of Access Granted, the Toyota brand will establish an on-site presence at Blizzard Arena Los Angeles for the 2018 Toyota C-HR. The car maker will also have media placements that promote its vehicles as well as the Overwatch League.

The first-ever season of the Overwatch League began earlier this month. Twelve franchises from cities located in Europe, North America, and Asia will compete against each other throughout the season. The initial four days of the season’s first week were sold out. If you want to watch the action as it unfolds, you can do so at
